Flag Raising Request

Before You Submit a Flag Raising Request

The Town of Ajax may approve flag raising requests to recognize and raise awareness of important causes, events, organizations, and commemorations. All requests are reviewed in accordance with the Town's Flag Raising request procedure.

Examples of requests that may be approved include:

• Community, cultural, and heritage celebrations
• Art and community events
• Charitable fundraising and public awareness campaigns
• Civic events

Please note: 

• Submit your request no more than 90 days before your preferred flag raising date
• An individual, group, team, or organization may receive one flag raising approval per calendar year.

Flag Requirements

If your request is approved, you must provide the flag.

The flag should:

• Represent the organization, cause, event, awareness campaign, culture, heritage, or commemoration being recognized
• Be approximately 3 feet by 6 feet
• Include grommets (metal eyelets) for attachment to the Town's flagpole
• Not contain corporate advertising, commercial promotions, or sponsor logos

Important: Do not submit a separate Proclamation Request. If you would also like a proclamation, it can be requested as part of the Flag Raising request application.
